The newest member of Team Shock!
(HOUMA) – The big question everyone wants to know has not yet been answered – Houma professional basketball player Sumar Leslie has not yet chosen her first pro team. That decision is coming in the next few weeks.
But she did join a different kind of team today – one she believes will revolutionize the world of athletic energy.
The Houma point guard announced today that she has agreed to join the Shock H20 energy water team.
With deep local Louisiana roots, the energy water is soon-to-be FDA approved and blends pure water with green tea caffeine – a drink that has no calories, sugar, sodium or any other elements that contribute to poor nutrition.
“Keeping up with my good nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle is of the utmost importance to me,” Leslie said. “But at the same time, I am a professional athlete, so I need added energy sometimes, so this is a true blessing. I am happy to be a part of the Shock H20 team. It is my humble and honest belief that this product will revolutionize the world of energy drinks and energy waters.”
Leslie’s deal with Shock marks her third endorsement deal since turning professional in April 2012.
The Houma native has also agreed to endorse products created by Wicked Audio in Utah and also HairZing in Tennessee.
She earned the right to hold such distinctions after leading Nicholls State to its best season in school history.
Leslie earned Second-Team All-Southland Conference honors in her senior season, averaging 15.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. She also was near the top of the conference with 2.6 steals per game, while shooting 44% from the field and 40% from behind the 3-point line.
The Houma native said she believes that performance will be enhanced now that she is introduced to Shock’s line of products.
“This stuff tastes just like water – it has no aftertaste or anything,” Leslie said. “You can drink it and get pure, productive energy without the crash that you might find in other energy drinks.”
Shock H20 is an energy water supplement based in Birmingham, but it has deep local roots – co-owned by a Lafourche Parish native. It was developed after years of research.
One bottle of the water provides one with a shot of caffeine similar to that in a cup of coffee – without the calories, sugars and sodium in the coffee.
The product’s website boasts that it gets customers “on track to get you through the daily grind.”
Since its inception, the company has picked up steam. It is the official drink of the WBA Exposure League and is also supporters of local fishermen competing in professional angling tournaments.
